Hello,

I have an asus ac-2400 connected to 4 PC's through lan and up to 15 or more wireless connections. The router started overheating a lot and the hot weather isn't making it an easy , i tried lifting it up from the ground but that didn't help at all, So i bought a laptop cooler which is the coolermaster x-slim II.. And it helped alot , the router is no longer extremely hot just a bit warm. But my question is , is it okay if i keep that cooling pad running 24/7 ? Because the router has to be running 24/7 , No information is displayed on coolermaster's website but in general is it okay for cooling pads to run this much? And how long would is survive?

Solution
Keep the cooler running if you can't shut down the router. If the cooler blows up then replace it.

On the floor would be better - hot air rises.
