I got a ryzen 3600 CPU a while ago when it came out, and since then i have been using the cooler that came with it (wraith spire).
i decided to get a water cooler (Corsair H60 2018) and tried to installed it today but when I started my PC the temperature was sitting at 65-75° C idle compared to the 40-50° C it usually is idle. It went up to just over 90° C on my last try when i decided to change the fan back.

this is a part picker list with all the main components of my computer (ignore the compatibility issues as I've dealt with them already).
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PJ7H9G

I usually just go by whatever pcpartpicker says is compatible or not, even though I know some issues my not be updated yet, but I've obviously done something wrong here whether it is that the parts aren't compatible or that i have just installed it incorrectly.

any feedback on this is appreciated, thanks.

I am not trying to insult your intelligence, just getting info not included. Does the software included show the pump working, does the cooling fan spin? Did you use thermal paste with installation? Can you post a picture of your installation?

I would just double check your installation as the H60 should do more than a good job on the 3600. Have you followed the installation instructions and there are very good You tube video's on installation for the Corsair AIO's.

Mounting it properly is critical making sure you have good thermal paste contact and of course making sure the cables are connected properly.

Just take your time and double check the installation to make sure that is not the issue. You can check the Pump speed through 'Hardware Info' and it will show the RPM that the pump is spinning at.

The h60 is one of the most basic models. It doesnt do rpm reporting or control through corsair link. Youll have to pay attention to the rpm in the bios. I think they sit around 3000 or so for the pump.

I had 2 and hated them. The mate was near impossible to get right. I think they had a bad batch of non flat cold plates. Given the super premium corsair charges im not going back if their qc is that bad. I wasnt impressed by my k90 either. Not worth the price premium (corsair tax)
