Cooling - Replacement Fan for Arctic Freezer 7 Pro 92mm PWM Fan

I purchased an Arctic Freeze 7 Pro Heatsink and fan about 4-5 yrs ago for my Intel Q9300 through newegg. The fan is on its way out and I am looking to just replace the fan. The temps are fine but I cannot find any replacement fans that clip on to the heat sink...just the ones for the cases.

http://

Is there anyway to just get the fan or must I purchase an entire HS/Fan combo? I would have thought it would be as simple as putting in 92mm fan, and maybe it is. Do the case fans work as CPU coolers via heat sinks?

Thanks in advance

Plastic and hot metal not a good idea? How did the previous one attach? lol looks like plastic to me:

Plus, the metal doesnt get hot enough to melt the plastic.

Put the fan flush to the flat side of the heatsink, put some zip ties through the mounting holes of the fan round the back of the heatsink and pull it tight on there. You could probably even get a 120mm fan on there.
How do you take a case fan and change it to a cpu cooler fan. I see that Arctic has a replacement fan for $2, however it costs $14 to ship.....at that price I would just get a new HS/Fan. That being said, there is plenty of fans cheap enough to buy, just not sure if they would fit. The case on my fan clips on to the metal of the HS. It still runs so I do not want to rip it out pull out the fan and then realize it wont work; I will then just have to buy the whole thing anyway lol.

You can get any 92mm pwm fan and zip tie it to the heatsink. As you have said Arctic do spares but the shipping cost can be high.

You are better off just buying a new one to be honest.
