Ok, so I want to take a large thermoelectric drink cooler and cram a mini-ITX system into it. I realize that this would create condensation problems and require huge amounts of insulation, so I got to thinking...why not just throw in a dehumidifier as well? The drink cooler is sealed, so once it removes the condensation from the trapped air inside, it would shut off and not really require emptying of the tank.
Yes the water could, very slowly in the extremely cold temperatures, re-evaporate back into the air inside the cooler, but even that would take a very long time, not to mention that the holding tank is almost virtually closed off except for a couple tiny holes, which even further limits how much water can re-evaporate into the air.
But you can't use fridges to cool a computer because they aren't designed to handle the heat loads...right? Here's the beauty in this, these coolers don't use the design of a fridge, they use thermoelectric coolers (peltiers) to do all the work, and we all know that people use peltiers for pc cooling.
Cost wouldn't be that bad really. A couple hundred bucks for the cooler and dehumidifier would be all.
So here's what I'm proposing and asking you all for your insight and ideas. Would it be possible to take a large TEC drink cooler, put in a mini-ITX system and a mini dehumidifier, and have it run at fairly decent temps?

Thank you guys.

Short answer, No.

Motopsychojdn AKA (Moto) another Toms member, attempted to do something similar to what you are proposing with a TEC cooler and his results weren't very promising but he was water cooling and using the cooler as a chiller and you're probably air cooling so just try it and let us know what happens?

Yes, mine would be all air cooled, i think an air cooler or closed loop would help pull more heat off the cpu, but not sure, might as well they're pretty cheap. Yea ill give it a try. Sounds promising. I cant see any reason it wouldnt work. I know im not gonna get 5C or anything ludicrous, but i see no reason why room temp or even 5 below wouldnt be achieveable.
