I had to refresh my whole W8 system in order to solve this, but only worked for the first minutes, then after the updates ( 10 hours of updates ) it still does not work.
I read that Security update KB3057839 causes this error, but my Win8 does not show this update, so that is not the cause.
I run sfc/scannow , reboot and run again.
Windows resources protection did not find any infraction of integrity
I also run
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Before posting here, I followed up these contents:

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2134857/windows-copy-paste-error

http://www.thewindowsclub.com/clear-clipboard-in-windows

and even installed Clickboard magic

None of the above could repair control+C and control+V functionality.

When I press Control key and C, and after press Control+V, it just writes the letters c or v

All follow up to solve this problem, I would remain most obliged for it

O.S. W8.1

BitDefender

Try pressing Shift 5 times, you will get a window, in it select Go to the Ease of Access Center... option, In the options uncheck the options Turn on sticky keys, Turn on Sticky keys when SHIFT... then Apply> OK

Good luck!

Thanks for answering!
I followed your instructions, unchecked the 1st heading "Turn on Sticky Keys" and also the next heading "Keyboard abbreviated method"( translated from Spanish).
I rebooted the PC W8.1
It didn´t work, unfortunately every time I press Control and C ( or V) all it does is writing the letter c or v.
The web is so full of this issue posted everywhere. I never had this problem on my PC until now and your suggestion is a new one. I wonder what else to do...
Thanks again

Most obliged for following up and help.

The only way to copy is with the right-button Copy / Paste, text and images, into Ms.Word and .txt - there is no problem

Problem is that Control+C and Control+V are not working at all, if I try to copy a text into a .txt or a .docx and cover it with the mouse and the press Control key and C, it erases it all and instead writes just the letter c.
Hence, it seems as if the CONTROL KEY does not work. How can we test just the Ctrl key to check if that´s the problem? What I did now was to test Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V using the Screen Keyboard and it works fine. The problem might be the Ctrl key on the phsysical keyboard. I´m using a TOSHIBA Satellite S855D

Thanks for responding

Have you tried the control key on its own to see f it works also have you dropped anything on that key or spilt anything on it also have you tried the cans of compressed air they recommend to see if it has fluff or something under it

Try this : http://www.keyboardtester.com/

and tell us.

I opened the keyboardtester, I set NumLock On, I wrote something on the box and then overshadowed it. Over it, if I click Ctrl nothing happens and when I also clicked c at the same time, it erases what it is written and writes a letter c.
Same thing.
I wonder if this is a symptom Ctrl key is not operative ?

I appreciate your follow up

I don´t because it is a laptop, but I´ll find it and check.

In the meanwhile is there some other way to check the functionality of the Ctrl key, besides Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V ?

Thanks for the follow up

Try Ctrl + Shift + Esc = Open task manager.
In firefox Ctrl + Shift + P = open a private browsing window

tell us!

My suspicion that Ctrl key is not working turned out right... I even disabled the keyboards in other languages since I read that might be the solution: http://ccm.net/forum/affich-28177-control-keys-not-working-on-laptop

When I click on Ctrl+Shift+Esc nothing happens
When I click on Ctrl+Shift+P nothing happens in Fx

I´ll be contacting Toshiba on Monday since it seems to be my laptop keyboard error. On the virtual keyboard all is fine.

Thanks again for the kind follow up...
