same l2 cach,same fsp speed,same number of cores(2),more clock speed for pentium d
the far as i see pentium d is faster!
965 ee has also hyper-threading so that will be 4 threads vs 2

The Pentium Extreme 965 is a Netburst architecture, in many ways Intel's worst architecture ever. It is older, uses more power and does a lot less useful work per clock. The X6800 will be a fair amount faster since the Core 2 architecture is far superior.

The Core2 architecture is about twice as fast clock-for-clock as Prescott. The performance gap between the two is just huge.

And a modern i3 is another ~60% step up on clock-for-clock performance even before counting HT.
