I have Dell Optiplex 780 Mini Tower with a E8600 Core 2 Duo and I have ordered the Core 2 Quad Q9650 CPU, I have read I need the performance copper heatsink and I plan on ordering one next week, however will this heat sink from the Optiplex I have now work for now until I can order a new one? This is the stock heat sink I have right now https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-K2NV1-Optiplex-780-Heatsink-and-Shroud/132076986271?rt=nc&_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D52935%26meid%3D6f8b1196e3c4492a984e6a521036f139%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D232853075377%26itm%3D132076986271&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 I also have artic silver thermal paste. Would it be okay to use the stock heatsink until I can buy a new one?

Okay so for an example this psu would be 336 watts on the six pin?

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152061&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

The 12V. rail for EVERYTHING would be 336W. CPU, GPU, drives Everything 12V. If you pull 225W on an 8 pin GPU there won't be much left for anything else.
Here is a test of the Dell 305W PSU. Bear in mind that the Dell rating is continuos and the aftermarket is peak output.

If you want to run an 8 pin PCIe card i would suggest at least a good quality 500W PSU.

Sorry for all the questions.
I found a evga 500 watt psu it only has 6pin+2 pcie would I use all 8 pins or would I use a 6 to 8 pin adaptor on the 6 pin part or do I need to find a psu with one 6 pin?

Okay, so I have all new 8 gen parts and a MSI gaming motherboard the B360 and I decided to buy the same brand Corsair memory, case and psu I am all set to begin installing everything once my case arrives today. One thing I do not understand is connecting the power supply. The motherboard manual says to connect cpu_pwr1, atx_pwr1, and pcie_pwr1,although I have read connecting pcie_pwr1 is not necessary, it is only for overclocking, but the motherboard manual says to connect them all. I am using the corsair vs550 psu and I have a msi gt 730 gpu. I don't plan on overclocking. Should I connect all three power connectors? Even if I don't need pcie_pw1 will connecting it anyway cause any harm?

ATX PWR1 is the 24 pin MB connector, CPU PWR1 is the CPU 12V which is usually a 4+4 connector on an aftermarket PSU, use 4 or 8 as needed by the MB.
PCIe PWR1 is only needed if the GPU requires it and will be a 6+2 on an aftermarket PSU. The rest of the cables will be for the drives mostlt SATA but usuallly an FDD, and 4 pin Molex will be there also.
