Which is best processor among used

• Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 6M @ 3.0 GHz
• Intel Pentium D Dual Core 925 4M @ 3.0 GHz
• Intel Pentium D Dual Core 4M @ 3.4 GHz

The core 2 duo by a country mile.

Reason: Its way way faster. The Core 2 architecture was a huge leap from the old Pentium 4/D.

If you are planning to search for used systems or proc in such category.
I would prefer the quads e.g. Q6600, Q8200, etc.
Instead of those Pentium Ds or Duos.

When we released the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo's I went looking for benchmarks because I was about to build a new system. Here at Tom's I found some benchmarks and was able to compare the Intel Pentium® D 965 Extreme Edition 3.73GHz to the Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13GHz. In the 20 different benchmarks the Intel Core 2 Duo won 16 of them and was only beaten the couple remaining by a small margin. So the Intel Core 2 Duo are the best option by a good bit.
