Core 2 quad current heatsink or new one

i have a dx4822-01 im getting a core 2 quad q9400 and putting that on my current pc's mobo but it does not come with a heatsink, so should i buy a new one? or could i use the current one that i have now? which is the one that came preinstalled with the dx4822-01

That would likely be the stock Intel cooler for the Pentium - not the greatest but if you're not gonna overclock it should be alright. You can always use something like Core Temp to monitor temps first before deciding you need a new sink.

That would work just fine for a basic heat sink - I'd throw some artic silver on there too to ensure good transfer.
