Core 2 Quad difference

Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4ghz Q6600 vs Q9650 3.0ghz

With no overclocking, I'm pretty sure the q9650 wins, but if I upgrade my brother's Q6600 to the Q9650, will there be a noticeable difference?

And I will not be overclocking his current chip so don't suggest it.

The PC's other specs are 6gb of RAM and a 750 Ti FTW edition. As of now the system can barely hold 30fps on GTA V as that processor is the literal bare minimum processor.

I don't think you would see too much of a difference; you would only be seeing a 600MHz boost, and a little more L2 cache.

What I would do is save up, or lower the setting on your GTA V. (What settings are you running right now BTW?)

Pretty low lol I capped it at 30 on purpose so it would fluctuate less, and my brother doesn't seem to notice the difference between 30 and 60. I'm just curious as sites like Game-Debate say the difference between the processors is fairly significant.

Yeah, sites like GameDebate don't really 100% compare accurately, as I don't even know where their info comes from.

I don't know why my thing doubled but I can't delete it also thank you, but what exactly does this mean? I'm not sure how much of a difference there is between tiers

Yea there likey to still be a reasonably difference given the 9650 is a newer cpu built on a small fab node
