ok i know these processors are old but just need some information about what is better. Had a look on google but wasn't satisfied. Just want to know people's experience with them. oh yeah and also which one is better for gaming

My sense is that the Passmark test is somewhat weighted towards gaming performance.

From the results above, I would think the Pentium G850 would be better for gaming. While the Q8400 has a higher potential CPU score, this is due to the four cores and ability to overclock to 3.6GHz. The G850 though has the ability to use more modern motherboards such as Z77 and H67, better memory allocation, and SATA III 6Gb/s disk systems, making it overall a much better choice. Also, the upgrade potential of LGA1155 should be far superior to LGA775.
