Core clock/voltage problem

hello guys

i have a problem overclocking my gpu

my system is:
gpu:titan x sli watercooled
cpu:intel i7 6700k
ram:32gb
OS:win10


i know the basics of overclocking but my problem looks weird

first thing is raising the core clock by 10mhz every benchmark test till i get a crash

when i get a crash i should raise core voltage for the crash

so my operation was like this:

my coreclock is 1215mhz
i raised it by 10mhz then benchmark then repeat the procces till i get a crash
then crashed at 1485mhz so its time to increase the voltage to prevent getting a crash
after that i raised the core voltage by 10mhz and the test is still crashing
i tried to increase the voltage again and again till i reached 70+ mhz increament
and the crash is not going,,,
so i looked at the moniting system... the core clock was 1505!!!

it raised itself i didnt increase it to 1505.. it must be 1485 as i left it
but when i increase the voltage to prevent the crash.. the core clock also increase itself

thats look weired

i use msi afterburner

Hi mate give that a good read http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/geforce-gtx-titan-overclock-guide,1.html haven't got a Titan myself, think you are confusing the voltage with the MHz. voltage is V, core clock is in Mhz. Also with turbo boost correct me if i am wrong, you allow the gpu more volts and a higher TDP an then it ramps its self up until it hits the temp set (i think) but have a good read you`ll get it

yes... the core clock increase itself when i raise core voltage.. thats it

and the core clock is not stable when i play a game

my core clock is like that when i play ^

and when i increase the core voltage it goes the same but to 1505mhz

Hi. New GPU's come with power efficiency built in that automatically drops core clocks when full power is not needed. However, the technology is very new and sometimes the down clocks hurt performance.

I would recommend using an unofficial overclocking mode in MSI Afterburner. Specifically "with PowerPlay support". This will stop the down clocking, but keep in mind it is a more aggressive overclock and will require more fine tuning.
