I'm about to upgrade my PC and need some advice. I have a tight budget, so thats the best ones i can get

1)Core i3 2100 3.1 Ghz for 125$

2)Core i5 750 2.66 Ghz for 140$ (I'm getting this from one of my friend)

I'm not a hardcore gamer :), I just want my games to play well(30+ fps max settings)

My current specs are:
C2d E7500 @ 3.3Ghz
Cooler Master Hyper N520
Asus P5KPL-AM SE Mobo
2x2 GB Corsair Ram
Nvidia GTX 550 Ti
Corsair HX650W PSU
LG 20" LED @ 1600x900

there is a huge difference between amd's cores and intel's cores ... they arent comparable.

Not to be a dick but i own both a core i5 760 and a core i7 2600k and ill tell u right now your WAY better off to get sandy bridge and save up a couple more bucks for a i5 2500k. don't get me wrong the i5 750 or 760 are both very good quad cores but if you go with sandy bridge and get a decent motherboard preferably a z68 then you will be more future ready in the sense you will be able to upgrade to ivy bridge! i guess this post is sorta irreverent sense u already bought the sandy bridge lol.
