Core i3 slow performance

Hello, i am looking to buy a core i3 processor but i've heard that it does not support windows xp. Now i've searched the internet only to get more confused. Some say it works fine while others say it does work but pretty slow. The problem is i can live without i3 but not xp as i work on Oracle that doesn't support windows 7 or vista. Kindly can someone provide me with a confident and detailed answer regarding this issue.

It is a processor, it does not care if the OS is XP, W2000, W7, linux, or something else. So, if you have XP drivers for your other hardware, XP will work quite well.
