Hello Everyone! Let's jump into the topic. I found a very good deal on Intel Xeon E5-1650 V3 and X79. I was going for i7 4790 and a suitable motherboard first, but found this alternate deal. According to cpu.userbenchmark.com, Xeon E5-1650 V3 is faster than i7 4790. So what should i do? Kindly drop your suggestions. Thanks a lot :)

Really!? Then why do people say that my GTX 1080 will be bottlenecked 🙁 i was recommended i5-9400f by many people 🙁
I'm just going by experience.
I could run pretty much any game at 1080p on ultra at 60 fps with the i7-980 and a GTX 1080.
There were two that couldn't quite make it...out of maybe like 50 games....and they were The Witcher 3 and The Outer Worlds.

"Then why do people say that my GTX 1080 will be bottlenecked 🙁 i was recommended i5-9400f by many people "

Which I think would also do the job.....but it's not like it's any stellar upgrade over the two you are considering.
It's faster overall by about 30%....but the 4790 is faster in single thread apps...so the 4790 might be faster in some games that mainly run on one thread.

both are kind of on the slow side by today's standards

Yeah i know mate 🙁 both are kinda old CPUs but that's what my budget allows me to buy...

Rest of the RIG is:
16GB RAM
Gigabyte GTX 1080
550W PSU

This brought a smile on my face 🙂♥ Thanks bro

Btw I'm only playing offline storyline AAA games on 1080p@60Hz. I'm usually attracted towards graphics, thats why I bought a GTX 1080... i hope my RIG can run new AAA titles on Very High/Ultra settings on 1080p at 60FPS.

I was running a 1080 with the i7-980. The 980 was a little slow for it but just a little.....so now the 980 runs with a 1060.

That being said....and comparing the 980 to your two choices... I think the CPUs you are looking at will run the 1080 well.

I think with a 1080 and either of those CPUs you should be able to run pretty much anything at 1080p on ultra at 60 fps.

Oh i see..... The Witcher 3 is well known for it's Graphics, I'm planning to play Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, AC Valhalla and some other new AAA titles on my new RIG.

Just a little more research, then I'll buy the processor and motherboard :)

Also....those two games that couldn't quite make 60 fps on Ultra basically ran in the 50s on Ultra....so they were still totally playable....but I'm thinking there's a good chance you might get 60 on those games with those CPUs.
