Sorry to beat the proverbial dead horse here, but I've not had any luck coming to a sound conclusion on this:

I'm running AMD A8 7600 Windows 8.1, I observe from Resource Monitor that 2 cores are parked on idle. Yes, I realize this is a power-saving tool and that when my system needs more processing power Windows OS should unpark automatically... yada yada.

However, I've read in various threads that it will improve gaming experience (albeit slightly, but I'll take it).

So could someone please answer:
Is there a way to disable core parking on Windows 8.1 64-bit OS? [/b]I have tried the regedit method (0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583) and changes the ValueMax to "0", did reboot, and still have cores parked.

Thank you,

Hello,

So I've resolved this issue on my own. It turns out I did not have the latest Windows update for Windows 8.1.

Windows 8.1 does NOT park cores and it is currently operating as intended.

That registry mentioned above does not exist in the new Windows 8.1 update.
