Cornerstone Color 20x70 CRT Screen Problems

I have a Cornerstone Color 20x70 CRT Screen w/ a Trident 16mb Video adapter. The Crt screen will become fuzzy and unclear "showing colors" when set to any resolution or refresh rate. Is this the adapter? Can you recommend a good solution to this issue?

The 20/70 is a very old monitor, it was one of the first color monitors we manufactured.

So are there drivers available with these settings? Or is a specific videocard needed? I have this monitor. I've actually got it to display an image, but the image was distorted. I never could find settings 1600x1200 @ 70hz.

To show how old this monitor is, there are no drivers for it because it was built before the Windows plug and play standard was adopted. The only thing that will help is to run the monitor within its specifications, and that means 1600 x 1200 at 70Hz. Because this is a fixed fequency monitor, I would expect distortion if you run at any other resolution/ refresh rate.

The name 20/70 comes from the fact that it is a 20" CRT and runs 70Hz at 1600 x 1200

Whats your point!. Monitor prices have come down significantly from the late 1980's and early 1990's. Relativly speaking, some people would say that the professional monitors on the market today are expensive.
