Hi, so I was wondering, I need a neew power supply because my corsair CX750 non modulair is 8+ years old. Some of you might be surprised with this, all I can say is I took real good care of my pc.
The time has finally come to change my power supply.

With BlackFriday being at the end of November, which is really nice, I'm eying some discounts at a local shop in Belgium-Antwerp. These are the prices I could find:
Corsair 650 RM=90€'s
Corsair 650 RMX 2018=100 €'s
Corsair 650 RMX 2021=120€'s (I don't think this one will be in discount cause this is too new...)

Questions:
  1. Does the year really matter?
  2. Does the difference between RMX and RM really matter?
  3. Do psu's go in discount with black friday?
  4. I assume with the following specs I won't be neeeding more then 650w since I'm only eying to get a 3060ti and maybe 1440p 144hz in the future?

Aerocool gta white (soon to be fractal design meshify 2)
Mobo: MSI Z170 gaming a (5 years old)
CPU: Intel core I7 6700 non k with stock cooler (5 years old)
Ram: Hyperx 16gb DDR4 (5 years old)
GPU: amd XFX RX590 Fatboy 8gb (almost 3 years old) (downvolted)
SSD: Kingston 240gb (5 years old)
HDD: WD 1,5 tb (10+ years old)

Thank you all for the answers!

Solution
1| Yes it does, most often, improvements are made and since this is the RMx series, they wouldn't dare skim out on quality parts inside the PSU.
2| Differences in the RM and RMx series.
3| They do, last I checked for the past decade but the sort of units going on sale can and will vary.
4| http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm, I'd look at something around the region of 750W for headroom. Also helps you factor in overclocks for future platforms.
