I am reusing the Corsair AX750 from my previous build. Since I am using a GTX1060 instead of a pair of GTX660Ti's in SLI, I only need a single PCI-E six pin connector. The AX750 has a single 12 pin connector supporting two cables, each one supporting a PCI-E connector. I am trying to minimize my cabling mess and would like to simply chop off the surplus cable at the AX750 . Assuming I ensure the "stumps" cannot short, is there any reason not to do this? Corsair tech support is not available until next week and I am armpit deep in building and would like to continue!

Thanks in advance,

Larry

Again, thank you both! You made me really think about the issues and I have concluded the following:

Electrically, dealing with direct current, there is NO difference between unplugging the unused cable at the supply or leaving it plugged into the supply and coiling it up in the case. SO, the only issue is whether or not I am competent to cut six wires cleanly....I will chance it!
