Corsair cx550w good for gaming?

Hey guys, i was wonder if cx550w was any good for my build

Intel i3 8100 8th gen
Asus EX-H310M-V3
16gb ram 2400mhz
Rx580 4gb

It's my first time in pc building and i want it to be worth my money. I'll use this specifically for gaming

It's good but for your build, I'd look for a 650W unit. Where are you located? You could look into Seasonic's S12II/M12II units.

Cx 550 2017 is much better than the s12/m12. Stick with it.

Not really....

The M12II is a proven solid unit with a long track record.

The CX series.... Not so much.

the latest cx series is far better, thats y the 2017 model i mentioned. the s12 uses an old topology but yeah its good.

Nope, even the new ones have been failing lately as they are starting to see some age. The only difference between the new and old seems to be the new ones don't take out the system when they let go.

And then there is this review, yeah it's the 2017 model... FAILED.

I don't recommend them for anything other than basic workstations.

We are seeing both the CX and CXM failures LATELY...… As they are aging.... I knew this would happen though.... 😉

Been keeping track of them as they post here.

I don't recommend any Corsair less the RMX series.

The TXM is fine though.
