I have a 60GB Corsair Force GT SSD in my PC, I recently switched my Mobo and CPU from an ASRock Extreme 4+ i5 2500k to a M5A97 R2.0 EVO + fx6300.

Since I did this my windows index score for my primaray hard drive dropped from 7.5 to 5.9. I have the latest corsair firmware as well as the latest AMD chipset driver. I also did a test with AS SSD benchmark and got a sequential write of 345 MB/s and a sequential read of 50MB/s. So it seems something isn't right?

Any help is much appriecaited :)

You can download software which can carry out read/write error tests here:

You mentioned you benched it with AS SSD, I think it might also have read/write error testing.

It looks like the Asmedia is the correct driver, but it maybe out of date, here is the DL page for your motherboard drivers: http://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/M5A97_EVO_R20/HelpDesk_Download/

See if there are any updates you might need and check if it helps. Good luck!
Have you tested it for any read/write errors? If any, it might be best to test it in another system, or RMA it.

Check and see if there is an update for your SATA controller driver. I believe that mobo uses a J-Micron controller....they are known to cause issues with some SSD's.

How would I test for read/write errors? Also I have the Asmedia 106x SATA driver version 2.0.4, is this the right one? As to me it seems it might be the one from my old ASRock motherboard.
