corsair psu + msi z97 gaming 5, tight 24 pin connector

Hello so i recently bought an z97 gaming 5 and a corsair psu. I already knew the z97 had a tight 24 pin connector but it turns out the corsair psu also has this problem so i was wondering if anyone knows if the 24 pin connector can fit in, because i have already tried pushing it quite hard but its just those last 2mm that wont fit. BTW will i damage my motherboard if i push very hard?

You could, do you have another PSU you can try? Check the pins in the PSU plug and ensure they are straight (of course unplug first)

i was dealing with this exact issue 10 minutes ago!!!!

it needs a bit of force. i was just testing on a Corsair HX750i on an Asus X99 Deluxe. the 24 pin power cable BARELY got into the motherboard. had to push it in harder than i was comfortable with but it went in eventually.

the EVGA Supernova 1000W P2 and the XFX XTS1000 W platinum that i normally use slip right in there on both of my X99 boards. i hate corsair cables in general. they are horrible.
