I've been looking at PSUs lately and wanting a good 550w one. I did want the Seasonic G 550w but that is not available on the website I want to buy from anymore. I am looking at Corsair PSUs as I know they're good but with some of the cheaper or lower end ones like the CX or RM series I heard they weren't very good. The RM series I heard has bad capacitors, same as the CX I believe.
after doing some research, I found out that the RM750 and the RM850 are made from a different OEM than the RM450-650 and the RM1000. Looking at the Newegg PSU tier list I found out that the RM550 was tier 2 while the others (750-850w) were tier 3. I also looked at the toms hardware PSU tier list and found that they were all in tier 3. In the original list though, the RM450-650 was in tier 2a. But I guess that list doesn't matter anymore.
all in all, I think it is way better quality as I've heard but I wanna see what you think.
also, I think the RM is good because of how it turns off it's fan and is fully modular with black ribbon cables. But it is a little costly.
If there's any you can suggest around that price range please say so.
