corsair rm 750

i am looking to buy power supply corsair rm 750 watts ; my system is dell optiplex 9010 MT . Will this power fit in to my casing. and support my motherboard (means its connecters are supported or not and is this power supply type is required eg atx)

The RM is an ATX mobo. You need to look into whether your Dell has standard ATX connections and the existing power supply is standrad ATX size.

The 9010 minitower does apparently use a standard ATX PSU, so you should be fine

i have read from the links you posted i understand little bit about standards of atx as different rails 12v or 3v but my question is can you tell me if i buy rm 750 watt power supply will it support my system according to atx standards and power supply fit in to my pc casing (i am new to these things i dont know much about which powersupply to buy)

If you want to be really sure just take out your PSU and measure it. 150mm wide, 86mm tall

The tech hasn't changed much in the last 10 years and the bits that have (mostly the connectors) are backwards compatible anyway

thanks for your positive response and i have seen the specification and it says it has ATX Connector 150mm x 86mm x 180mm as you can see http://www.corsair.com/en/rm-series-rm750-80-plus-gold-certified-power-supply

What other PSUs are available in your country? The RM series is ok but there may be better quality units

i dont know about my cpu's psu but its accordind to atx standards i think. in my country thermaltake , coolermaster, antec, seasonic (but few models),corsair. but i chose this model because its 80plus gold certified and within my budget

Measure the old psu. If it's ATX size, then the RM will fit. Check if it has standard ATX connectors. If so, the RM will work.

i have checked my psu 150,80,140mm but corsair depth is 180mm and my psu depth is 140 mm other than widh and hight are same . some people say it would fit in my pcs casing because of width and hight what do you suggest

If the width is the same then that's good. It can be a bit higher and it can be a bit more longer and still fit your case.

Has the old power supply got standard ATX connectors - see wiki article ? If so, the RM should be able to replace the old power supply.

it has 24 pin connector and rm has atx connectors as well 20 or 24 pin and a connector to provide additional power to processor . the only doubt was its depth (length)

Yeah it all sounds good to me. extra depth usually doesn't matter, just check that your case has the extra 4cm of space for it

yes it has plenty of space . measured that extra space required with a scale. thanks for telling me dimensions of atx power supply
