I have a computer with Gigabyte h610M motherboard and Talius 700W power source.
It works fine but it's noisy, so I decided to buy and install Corsair rm750E.
After I put it into the computer case, connected MB, CPU, SATA and 220V cables, switched on " O l " button on the PSU and power button on the computer case, nothing happened - no fans rotation, no beeps.
I returned Corsair rm750E to the online shop and they sent me a new one.
It did not work too.
I installed Talius 700W again and it is still working fine.
I tried this test - https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025085372-PSU-How-to-test-a-PSU-Power-Supply-Unit
With multimeter, not paper clip.
With Corsair rm750E connected to 220V power outlet the multimeter shows 0V between GND an any other pins.
But I have same result with Talius 700W - zero volts.
(I also checked my multimeter on AA battery - it shows 1.5V 🙂

What could it be - two broken Corsairs in a row or some kind of MB and PSU incompatibility?

Did you recycling the cables from the older PSU over to the new PSU? If so, that's your main issue. You work with the cables that come with the PSU alone as all PSU's don't share the same pinout. have you also checked to see that all connections from the new PSU are secure to all your components and fully seated?

Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
