I haven't enabled PBO on the 9700x yet, and am not sure if it's even worth it. Without PBO the CPU draws maximum 80w and surely the PSU will have no problem. It gets more interesting with PBO, in which case the CPU can draw up to 180w. That together with 400w transient spike on the GPU will put me close to the max 750w. It will probably still do fine.

I have 4 case fans and 2 CPU fans, but no RGB. The RM750x is brand new and still within the return window. What do you think?

If I were in your shoes, I'd return the unit, then get the same Corsair branded unit from the same series but with a higher wattage to have as headroom.

Which RX 9070 XT are you eyeing?
Out of curiosity, why? My guess (and I admit that it's just a guess) is that the rest of the system uses less than 100 watts.

So, even during those transient spikes, 180W CPU + 100W rest of system + 400W (transient spike period) still means a maximum of 680W. The RM750x is a pretty tough PSU, I'd imagine that 70W of reserve is plenty, even if the PSU was pulling that 400W continuously.

I don't discount the possibility that I'm missing something, though.

Agreed that the 750x is a great PSU and it may stay up with that hardware, but you really don't want to be regularly hitting within 10% of the max rating of a PSU.

Since the OP is still within the return window this is a no-brainer. Return the 750x and go with an 850x (min.) or 1000x.
