Hi, I'm considering building a new rig and I'm wondering which of these PSUs would be the best: CorsairRMx vs Seasonic FOCUS Plus Gold?

I was thinking of choosing the 550W version as my rig will consist of:

  • ■ i7 8700K (as soon as it's buyable...)
    ■ MSI GTX 1070 Armor OC
    ■ G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB DDR4 2666 MHz CL15

Seasonic is know for its quality, the FOCUS Plus comes with a FDB fan and is slightly cheaper. However this PSU is relatively new, there are not so many reviews (but the ones one can find are pretty good) and it hasn't been tested by users over a long time.

The Corsair RMx seems to be of high quality and appears to be quieter but has a riffle bearing fan (although I assume the fan will not spin most of the time or will spin at low RPMs such that these points might not really be issues for either of the PSUs). I'm also assuming (perhaps erroneously) that Corsair has a better costumer support.

Both come with 10 years warranty and are 80 PLUS gold certified.

Has anyone had some experience with these PSUs / brands?

Thanks!
