Corsair SSD speed issue

Hello. I purchased a 60GB Corsair Force GT SSD a while back. I've been very happy with it. I scored a 7.1 WEI score, and I thought that was fine, even though everything else was +7.8. Then my friend recently got a Crucial M4 that is quite a bit slower. He scores a 7.9. That's when I knew something was wrong. My SATA cable is pretty loose, and pops out very easily. I try to fasten it as best I can, but it doesn't really do anything. I've been using the ASUS ASAP SATA cables. I'm not sure if that's the issue, but it's really annoying knowing my SSD is performing at it's full potential. If you have some advice, please tell me, thanks.

The safest thing to do is to completely ignore WEI. In many instances, it is worse than worthless.

Based on what I have seen, your SSD is likely scoring lower on the WEI due to its size. I believe part of the WEI criteria is drive size.

My OCZ Solid 3 drive showed up as 7.2 before I set it to AHCI. You can set it up in 10 minutes.

Go to this page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922976

Click the fixit button on that page. Then resatart your system, set ur SSD to run as AHCI mode in the bios, and save the changes and restart. Make sure it is the primary boot device still. If all goes well it should start right up. Run WEI. It should show up at 7.7-7.9 and it will speed up your SSD a little.
