Hello, I got the seller refurbished strafe with is working after plug in only for 20-30 sec. then starts freezing keys and then totally disconnecting after another 20-30 sec and lights turning off also. wtf????????????

it is in like-new condition as the seller said.

so its working few seconds perfectly, then totally crashing.

(i hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhavo ideeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaae - thats how typing before crash )

Solution
and it says USB not recognized and crashing and disconnecting

It is possible that the firmware on it is corrupt and you need to update the firmware.

One option is from iCUE software but that doesn't help when you already have the latest firmware.
2nd option is manual, that i, once, went through with the help of Corsair support.

Here, i'm not feeling comfortable telling how to do it manually, since it may worsen the things and i only have Strafe RGB firmware file. Strafe should have different firmware file, which only Corsair has.
I suggest that you contact Corsair. :) And while you can't replace the KB, since your KB doesn't have any warranty, perhaps Corsair support can help you fixing your KB. They know a lot more about...
seller refurbished

Have you thought of a reason why it was returned in the first place?

it is in like-new condition as the seller said.

Is it? Btw, that's marketing trick.

I any event, do you use iCUE? If so, what version of iCUE.

Also, have you tried using KB without iCUE running?

Oh, did you tried different USB port? Desktop PCs have dedicated KB USB port.

And did you try using with with 2nd PC?

this is version, screenshot was taken as fast as I can until strafe wAs disconnected.

I tried without ICUE

I tried different ports

i dont know return reason.

i will try on other pc later. but i m sure my pc is not problem coz i reinstalled windows already.

If iCUE isn't running at all, do you get the same issue?

One option, to try, is to downgrade iCUE to 3.xx.xxx.
Btw, you can get 3.38.61 from here: https://www.corsair.com/eu/en/downloads

If KB acts up on 2nd PC as well, then it's most likely hardware issue. And that, you can't fix.
edit: downgraded but same issue

i wonder Why its working PERFECTLY until crash?

i mean seems like its Working PERFECTLY after the plugin for about 30-40 sec and then crashing wieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerdly

if is it hardware issue why it s working for 30 sec?

As for Why, well, i'm not Corsair customer support and can't answer that. But what i do have, are Strafe RGB KBs, two of them. The original Strafe RGB and Strafe RGB Mk.II, that my missus is using.
I've also had issues with my Strafe RGB KB and i'm trying to help you out, as one Strafe user to another.

Make the iCUE downgrade and report back if it fixed it. If it didn't i have few more ideas what to do.

as i said downgraded but same issue got.

shoot me more ideas

that's the last solution you think?

There is 1 more thing to try: Legacy Mode.

Note: i don't know if it works on your Strafe KB, but it does work on my Strafe RGB and on my Strafe RGB Mk.II KBs.

To enter Legacy mode:
  • Hold down F1 and press Win Lock key (the top right one).
  • After that, KB lights should flicker off and then come on again. Also, Scroll Lock light starts blinking.
  • Scroll Lock will blink as long as you are in Legacy Mode.
  • To exit Legacy Mode, press the same key combination again, F1 + Win Lock.
Legacy Mode is there to give access to BIOS during boot-up, if KB doesn't want to respond in normal mode. And while Legacy Mode isn't intended to be used on daily basis, it could be the only way where you can use your faulty KB normally. This is my last idea what to do/try.

I use Legacy Mode when Win doesn't detect my KB after boot-up. This "resets" the KB connection to PC, making it to work again.

yes KB goes to Legacy mode, starts blinking but the same issue, after 30-40 seconds crashing, Turning off all lights and disconnecting. sometimes light stays on but crashing and disccoonnecting

At this point, i doubt it would work on 2nd PC either.

Here, your best bet on fixing this, is to contact Corsair customer support and open a ticket with them.
Though, it may take a bit of time before they get back to you, but they are nice. At least i've had plenty of nice experience with Corsair since i have loads of Corsair products in use and i've contacted them when i've run out of ideas what to do and/or need service/RMA.

Few closing words regarding refurbished hardware;
Refurbished hardware is often cheaper than brand new hardware but there's a catch. Often, there isn't any warranty with them, or very little (14 days to 90 days) and with cheap price, you'll be taking a risk. Risk of it either working flawlessly and you got a great deal. Or risk of it not working and you wasting your money.

I, personally, am willing to pay full price (brand new item) with a guarantee of it working and if something should happen with it, i have a guarantee that during the warranty period (min 2 years), i can get it fixed/replaced cost free. I've already replaced my Corsair Sabre RGB mouse under warranty since 1.5 years into service, the middle mouse button stopped working.
Though, there are people out there who are willing to take the risk of refurbished hardware, just to score a great deal. There's nothing wrong with that, but keep in mind the risk you're getting with refurbished hardware.
