Hey there! So I'm in a bit of a dilemma on which keyboard i should buy as my first mechanical. Currently the Corsair Strafe is on sale and is the same price as my other choice of keyboard. My other choice of keyboard is either the Masterkeys Pro S or M (both are quite the same and have the features that I want so I put them into my second choice and not second and third)

The only problem is the switch type. Personally, I don't really type much and game a lot more than I type. The Masterkeys has Cherry Mx Brown Switches (only switch available in the uk) and the Strafe has Mx Blue switches (the version that's on sale.) Would getting a blue switch give me any disadvantage in fps games?

Another small thing that I wanted to ask is if the white sides on the strafe stand out a lot? My setup used to be black and red but I'm converting it to rgb soon and there will be no white on there so I'm not sure if the sides will ruin it.

I'm also willing to give up the compact size of the Masterkeys if it's worth it.

There is also another option with this. I could scrap the choices of getting these keyboards and find something with mx red and preferably compact. (Like the k65, however, from what I've heard, the masterkeys feels better than the k65)

So the questions are - Would getting a blue switch give me any disadvantage in fps games?
Do the white sides on the Strafe stand out a lot?
Should I just scrap these keyboards and get a different keyboard with mx reds?

Thanks!

Your questions are fair questions but mainly subjective.

Go "hands on" with the various keyboards being considered. Either in a store, borrowed, or via a friend or family member.

For example, my vision may make it appear that the Strafe stands out. Your vision may not.

I am not a gamer per se, but I cannot see any way that the switch color will gain or lose me some advantage while gaming. But then again I "touch type" and do not even need to look at the keys for the most part.

Go to stores etc. and see/feel/type on the keyboards. Find a keyboard that fits you.
