Corsair Vengeance 1866 timings when underclocked?

I have an 8GB kit of Corsair Vengeance 1866 MHz CL9 RAM (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9). The rated timings are 9-10-9-27-2T for 1866 MHz.

However, to accommodate my CPU overclock I've had to reduce the DRAM frequency to 1660 MHz. My CPU (i5-750) unfortunately doesn't allow a DRAM multiplier over 10x, so I'm stuck with that.

But could I tighten the timings of my DRAM at that lower frequency? 8-9-8-24 maybe? Would it make a worthwhile difference?

try at stock initially, and add + 0.05 to DRAM voltage and raise CPU/NB voltage to 1.2 then if good there tighten down to 8-9-8-27

I was wondering if it could work at lower timings at stock voltages, seeing as how it's spec'd for CL9 at over 200 MHz faster frequency than I'm running it. No?

Should be able to, I've offered starting points which most any should be able to reach

How would you recommend I test the stability of the timings? Memtest or something in addition to that?

Try running Prime for a few hours
