Hi All,

I built a new pc with Intel i9 10900F, MSI Z590 Gaming Wifi motherboard and using Corsair Vengeance 32gb DD4 3600mhz RAM. When I enable XMP profile in the bios and use the PC it freezes on windows loading screen or on the main desktop, I am then having to restart my pc at least 3-4 times for it to work. When I drop the speed down to 2933mhz it is working fine.

Any help on how I can utilize the full 3600mhz potential without facing these issues. I have updated the bios and all drivers on my pc.

Thanks in advance.

Or could you give a screenshot of thaiphoon burner read and asrock timing configurator (download it on Asrock Z590 OC Formula page, choose windows 10 for os) read?

Hi

Thanks for the reply my bios is the latest version, my ram sticks are in slot 2 & 4. Please find the screen shot of the timing configurator. is changing the cpu voltage etc easy enough I have never done that before. I also only have 1 xmp profile in the bios it has 1 & 2 but the 2 option is greyed out.

could you give a thaiphoon burner read of your ram sticks?

Okay, now, could you update your bios to the latest? after that, enable XMP Profile (the fastest profile), then Change these settings:

CPU SA Voltage: 1.21v (you could try lower this as low as 1.16v later)
CPU IO Voltage: 1.21v (you could try lower this as low as 1.16v later)
Dram Voltage: 1.36v

then go to advanced timings, and change these (try to use the bigger number first):
Command Rate: 2T
tCL: 18
tRCD: 22
tRP: 22
tRAS: 42
tRP: 64
tWR: 22 ~ 16
tRFC: 630
tRRD_L: 8 or 6 or 4
tRRD_S: 4
tWTR_L: 14 or 12
tWTR_S: 4 or 5
tFAW: 32 or 24 or 16
tCWL: 18

RTL CHA D1: 68
RTL CHB D1: 67

then save and exit, see if it boots.

Hi

Thanks I will give this a go, do I change the ram timings in the bios or via Thaiphoon Burner?

Hi

My bios is updated to the latest version, those settings never worked I got an error message when booting up my pc.
I had to restore all the changes for the memory timings back to auto and kept the voltage settings as per your recommendations.

you change them via bios, that is why i am suggesting you to update your bios to the latest first 😀

CMW32GX4M2Z3600C18 is Ryzen optimized RAM (Z in de modelnumber). I've seen issues before when it's used with Intel but depends on the which MIC is used. What's the version number of your RAM?

did you input the bigger number first? not straight up to the lowest? because the timing i suggest is so loose. Did you enable the xmp first and did the timings after it? could you try it again but with tRC at 74, IOL CHA D1 at 13 and IOL CHB D1 at 14?
