Does it make a difference. I am getting the new Asus PAZ77 and it comes with 4 slots so I was wondering if there is any difference besides price in doing one of the configurations.

If anyone can suggest a better RAM besides the Corsair Vengenace do tell. I am looking for RAM for gaming and video rendering and want to get 16 GB to be safe.

I recommend the Corsair Vengenace in most threads,

its stable RAM and others are too, its just a personal preference.

Get 2x8GB if u can, because it will leave room for larger upgrade, if needed later.

Also, less sticks = 50% smaller chance that one will die on u : )

I recommend CORSAIR Vengeance 99% of the time, quality RAM and low profile with XMP profile.
And if u will get an aftermarket CPU cooler, low profile is the worry free remedy with perfect fit with any large cooler.

Vengeance Low Profile heat spreaders have a reduced height of 1.03" (26.25mm). They're designed for high-performance systems with extra-large CPU coolers, small form factor system builds, or any other space-constrained application where standard Vengeance memory might not fit.

2x8 also leaves more room for an aftermarket cooler - on my motherboard at least if I had 2 sticks they would go in the 2nd and 4th slots from the CPU, leaving the closest slot clear.

^^ which the memory Nikorr has suggested will not have that issue :)

Less strain on the north bridge having only 2 out of 4 dimms populated becoming a myth nowadays? dunno, might be crucial information if the op wants to overclock.
