hahaha yes your right. Amazon is getting more efficient and stuffing goods in your face lol. Here's an artical about Ubuntu

Co-insides with what your saying.

I2P looks to be another place.

> Given how many functions are tied into Cortana, it is a tough choice to disable several key features of the OS just so you can have some level of privacy.

Really? Not for me. In my mind features should never come before privacy.

i had it on because i thought it was fun to search for something via voice command.
but then i was playing a pvp game, fullscreen mode, was in comms with some friends when cortana decided she heard some command of mine, took me out of fullscreen mode and opened a browser.
i disabled her since.

Disabling Cortana is not enough, they've been force spying on us since spoolsv.exe (print spooler) somehow became integral to internet connectivity. You've got to gut it like 10 times as deeply as we did windows 7, and there are even anti-spy tools to use against Win 10. This has been snowballing since MS DOS went GUI with windows. I'll take my fully functional command prompt back anyday.

Is it a "her" or an "it" with a female name? You can even change the voice to "Mark" as Cortana :)

I've actually got Cortana Enabled and it doesn't bother me at all. I'm Finding it handy if you forget where a file is or anything on your computer. Don't use it much for browsing although I've just recently switched to the Edge Browser and it's not half bad. Firefox and Google Chrome has problems. Either it's with AV or plugins so I got fed up.

Also the mic thing mentioned above. You can turn off what uses mic in privacy settings under Microphone. Coulda been Edge
