Could My Computer Handle Minecraft and some select mods?

My computer is pretty meh but I was wondering if my computer could handle Minecraft and its most up to date updates along with a few mods.

Computer Specs;

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz

RAM:4.0 GB DDR3

Graphics Card (More like Crap-hics Card since I know it's trash): Nvidia GeForce 3G210


Hopefully those suffice what you need to know. By the way, the kind of mods I would like to install are Optifine, a few SMP mod packs to play with friends such as Crazy Craft and Madpack, More Furniture. Thanks in advance to all who even glanced at this query.

I also forgot to mention that the model is an HP Compaq 8000 Elite Small Form Factor. I don't know if that benefits you at all but it's worth a shot, amirite?
