Every now and then in the middle of a game, my keyboard becomes unresponsive and makes that beeping sound. I have no idea what it could be, if you know what it is/could be, please let me know, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Time to regroup some:

I watched and listened to your video again. The beep seems to be one of those "you can't do that now" error sounds. As if you are trying to enter some invalid value in a data field.

Remember to check Task Manager. Do so before you start playing. Minimize it, play, and open again (if at all possible) when the system becomes non-responsive. You can also use the same process with the Resource Manager and Performance Manager.

Or keep the TM window open but shrunken so you can watch what happens especially if you cannot open the window. Game in a smaller window alongside TM.

Since you found a Chinese program I would run a full AV scan to eliminate a virus or malware.

Then I suggest reinstalling the keyboard...
Yep, a new keyboard should work fine, about the only way to trouble shoot a keyboard problem is with a different keyboard, unless your's has some special drivers and features other than a normal keyboard, then I would suggest checking the manufacturers website for those.

I had a different keyboard until a couple of weeks ago, it always worked fine, never had this problem before. Any other way to try and fix this without a second keyboard? If not I'll have to get one.

Agree with t53186.

You need to determine if the problem is with the keyboard or the PC. Can you borrow a keyboard?

Try the keyboard on another PC and see if the problem follows.

Put the old keyboard back.....

What make and model is the new keyboard? The beeping sound is most likely from the host computer - not the keyboard.

Is there a pattern to the beeping sound?

The keyboard is a Corsair Raptor CH-9000043-UK K30, the beeping only occurs at some point when I'm playing certain video games, but it has no set amount of beeps, or any set time or part of a game at which it happens, it occurs at random but always within a couple of games.

Now you have a "pattern".

Play as you normally do.

When the beeps occur and/or the keyboard becomes non-responsive, open Event Viewer.

Event Viewer captures informational events, warnings, and error codes with respect to things (events) that happen on your computer.

You should be able to find some logged event in the various logs that occurs just before or at the time of the beeps, etc...

Use this link from within this forum to help you understand and use Event Veiwer:

http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-3128616/windows-event-viewer.html

See what you can find and post accordingly.

I'm in the event viewer, except that guide was for the Windows 10 version, I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for here, sorry if this is annoying for you, I have no experience with this sort of thing.

Not annoying at all. Event Viewer is somewhat overwhelming at first.

What you are looking for is some common error (or errors) that occur just before or at the time the keyboard becomes non-responsive and/or beeps.

Does not matter per se which Windows version you are using. The Windows version may become important with respect to any given error(s) that you find. E.g., could be an error unique to one version.

Just take your time working through the Event Viewer logs. No rush to find something per se or quickly react to what you find.

And although some logs may immediately report "No data" wait some. It may take some time for Windows to find and present the requested log and its entries.

The key is to match some event/error with the keyboard failure.

Plus look for some way or means to narrow things down and confirm the error and problem source.

Full disclosure: very good chance that what you find will be a problem that I will not know the solution for. But what you find is something that we can "Google" and otherwise research.

Or someone else following your post may recognize the error and an associated problem. And post a solution. Okay with me.

Ok so I just hit the same issue, keyboard AND mouse this time both not responding, beeping in the background as I try to press a key/click. The only things in the Event Viewer that could possibly match up with the time are

'Event 7040, Service Control Manager - The start type of the Background Intelligent Transfer Service service was changed from auto start to demand start.'

and

'Event 2511, Loadperf - The server service was unable to recreate the share My Apps because the directory C:\ProgramData\Bluestacks\UserData\Library\My Apps no longer exists. Please run "net share My Apps /delete" to delete the share, or recreate the directory C:\ProgramData\Bluestacks\UserData\Library\My Apps.'

I googled Bluestacks, don't recognise the name, it's an Android emulator for PC which I've never downloaded, not sure how I have some folders relating to it.

Nicely done.

May be something that is changing, for example, the status of "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" service.

Very good chance that some other application or download slipped in the Bluestacks emulator.

The emulator launches, your computer says "I'm an android" and the keyboard/mouse choke.

Go into Task Manager (Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE keys).

Examine the various process and services names that are running.

Look for any that appears to be related to or involve Bluestacks.

Then go in to the Startup tab and likewise look for some Bluestack related name.

The idea is to identify those related processes/services with the intent to first simply stop/disable them.

Then if the keyboard and mouse return to normal you can remove those processes from Startup.

And eventually uninstall the program completely.

Look first. Maybe google a bit to verify and clarify.

There were no services/processes to do with Bluestack, but in my startup programs Bluestack was listed, I've disabled it so it (and a program name in Chinese, no idea how that got there haha) won't be active on start up. I'll let you know tomorrow if the problem is sorted, thanks for all your help, it's greatly appreciated. A lot of forum posts asking for help go unnoticed so I appreciate your answers, especially now it looks like they've yielded results!

Same problem today, and there is nothing in the Event Viewer at the right time, I checked immediately after I hit the issue and everything in the Event Viewer is at least 10 minutes behind.

Honestly not sure why Event Viewer would be 10 minutes behind. (Understood to mean that any logged events are always 10 minutes behind system clock time - correct?) Will need to look into that.
