Could there be any solution to this?

I have been getting blue screen error freezeups while on the internet for about a month now and not one remedy that I've tried has solved it long term. I uninstalled the @Home Browser today but it didn't seem to help as I just got a freezeup. I uninstalled McAfee, which a lot of people expected to be behind the problem and downloaded Innoculate but I got my first freezeup since I got that program today.

I just got this freezeup with this message while opening Outlook Express.

Error in OE 0028 C0030D12

Now that probably means nothing but if anyone has had something similar, please share.

A lot of people on the Windows ME Internet newsboard are getting errors in this same 0028 sector. This leads me to believe that there is a problem with something in IE 5.5. I really hope that this issue can be resolved and a real solution can be found.

I also thought about this. I kept doing these restores every two weeks or so and I never thought that perhaps the reason for these lockups was the fact that the system was trying to
process server data from this AT&T Cable internet service and it has a few kinks to
work out in the first few weeks. That seems unlikely but possible at this point.

I am totally stumped. Why does this keep happening even after all I've tried? Should I just give up?

I'd have to reccommend you try to re-install windows and possibly re-format. There might be a missing or corrupted file that is screwing everything up and looking for it would be like a needle in a haystack. Better to re-install the OS and you will have a 95% chance of the problem being fixed.

I could have a guess and say that the prob is not with IE, but with WinMe, did you upgrade to WinMe, or was it on the pc when you got it?, it weems there have been a lot of probs with WinMe when people have purchased it and loaded it onto existing systems

I recently built a new system and installed WinME. I had problems at first because I didn't load the drivers for my 10/100 network card before setting up the internet cable connection. It really screwed the system. But I reinstalled WinME and reinstalled everything in the right sequence and it works great. Only took a couple of hours...a clean reinstall is usually worth the time invested.
