Covering Laptop's Battery Terminals?

The battery to my laptop's stopped working, so I took it out. I'm using the laptop now on AC and it's working great- however, I feel slightly worried that the battery's terminals are exposed (those gold thingies?).

How can I cover them up? Can I simply wrap electrical tape around them? Will the current even be strong enough to deal me significant damage? Suppose I were to cradle the laptop on my lap while under a blanket, can the cloth catch fire if put into contact with the terminals?

unless you lick them, you will feel nothing when you touch them. Voltage in them is not high enough to cause injury or fire. And most of time maximum voltage on them can be about 20 volts and safe voltage is anything less than 50 volt. If you want you can cover them with tape, but there is no real need, just to feel safe so you cant accidentally short them with metal, like spoon you drop and place notebook on it, this can cause damage to notebook or just simply shut it down.
