LONG STORY SHORT: Get Windows 7, Solution at the bottom

Hello everyone,

I built my new system mostly for gaming at 60fps(I don't ask for much), the problem I'm facing is that when i play GTA V my cpu is sometimes max at 100% and so is my gpu 99-100%, it's doesn't lag when i start the game but after 5-10minutes it starts lagging bad, I don't know if its bottleneck or not, i also think it has something to do with my ram.

RAM at start is 5/8gb
RAM after 5min is 6.9/8gb
Ram after 10 min is 7.5/8gb.

What is causing the lag spikes?
Game settings are high-medium.

SPECS:
CORE I5 7400 3.0, 3.5GHZ
GIGABYTE G1 GAMING 1050TI
ADATA 8GB RAM DDR4 2133
1TB HDD
COOLER MASTER MWE 500 80+
1440x900p Monitor

Solution
not a bottleneck. you CPU/GPU are a balanced match. You could be having probs with the ram. 8gbs used to be perfect for a gaming machine, but more and more games push ram usage past 8gbs. BF1 for example pushes 8.1gbs on my system. As your ram fills up, you then start to use the windows swap file (which is much slower than your ram), which is what i suspect is the problem and why you have a slow down. Add in another 8gbs of ram and it should help massively.

On a side note, i'd recommend getting a 2 x matched kit of 8gb dimms. If you buy another single 8gb dimm, even though it may be the same timings or manufacturer you may have issues with that, and getting the two non-matched dimms working together. They may work, but they also may not. They can have different voltages, and/or mem chip manufacturer (Samsung. Hynix etc) so getting a matched kit means it's much more likely to run when you put the dimms in. You can sell the curent 8gb 2133mhs dimm to offset the cost of the new ram.

Memory usage reached 96%
The game does use the hard drive to send game data to ram and the gpu. Your disk may be failing or you may have another program or virus that is writing constantly. Massively downloading torrents can also do this.

The second part is the most troubling. If you run out of ram the computer has to use hard drive space as temporary ram "virtual ram".

You need to find out what process is hogging all of your ram and close it / uninstall it.

You need to look in your task manager and see what program is using up all your ram and which one is using up all your hard drive bandwidth.

Yeah the pagefile reaches 11gb and last time i checked with some diagnostic tool my HDD was working fine no issues.
And no malwares i did scan with Malwarebytes and Adwcleaner.

the slowdown is not because your disk is failing, rather it's because the swap file is run at the transfer rate of the HDD, which is much slower than the ram. Changing the swap file parameters will not help. Like i mentioned you need more ram. 8gb usage is becoming VERY normal now. Specially with the demanding nature of modern AAA games. Your system is well capable for the res you are playing at. Get 16gbs of ram, and you will be good to go.

Your 1050ti is prob a 4gb version. It's defo not the vram, as at that res you will hardly even use 2gbs even on demanding games (with one exception, Titanfall 2 - which can dynamically use as much ram as your GPU has.)

So defo just get the 16gb and you'll be good to go. I'd advise as mentioned not just getting a single 8gb stick, as you may have problems.

Thanks you for the suggestion i will consider it when buying new ram.
But the ram I'm using are totally the same models.

i'll suggest you to buy only 8gb of ram first if don't have a good budget

Stick with dual channel if you can. If you have 2x4gb now, get another 2x4gb. If you only have two ram slots then you have a tough choice. I'd want 2x8gb, but that means selling your current ram.

Check CPU usage when you're not gaming, it should be very low if you're just on your desktop. I know a lot of people have things set up to run automatically and if something like that kicks in while you're gaming it'll overwhelm your CPU. If you notice something using your CPU you need to figure out what it is and shut it off. Things like virus scans can be done manually, you don't want that running on its own.

CPU is at 1% when idle and when watching a HD video goes to 5-15%

link your current ram, with the one you're thinking of buying. Ill tell you if they are the same, and how compatible.

It may even be claimed it's the same timings etc as i've outlined above. But there are other variables to consider like the mem chips, single rank/dual rank and voltage.

I'd suggest not getting 2 x 4 gbs to add, as you will have an 8gb in one channel and 2 x 4gbs in the second channel (Your mobo is dual channel for best bandwidth) Ram is sold in kits for a reason. A motherboard must manage all the ram using the same specs of voltage, timings and speed. Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time. Some motherboards can be very sensitive to this.
That is why ram vendors will NOT support ram that is not bought in one kit. it is safer to get what you need in one kit.

Good luck with your choice either way :)

These are the 1+1 4gb = 8gb dims i bought http://www.adata.com/en/orderinfo/302
PART NO. is "AD4U2133W4G15-R"
I'm thinking of buying same.
My MotherBoard is Gigabyte B250M-D3H

buy 2*4gb ram it i'll good for ur pc

Solution

I'm going to pick this as the solution for now, till i get my new ram modules, because all of you guys gave me the same advice. Appreciated :)

UPDATE:

I downgraded/rolled back Windows 10 to Windows 7 all of my problems went away, i was getting less ram usage, less CPU usage and less HDD/Disk usage, which made my PC run quite fast and games smooth but i will still add more ram to my computer.

:)
