So i built this machine weeks ago and at first i had CPU temperature issues that i fixed by simply applying new thermal paste. Today i was doing some cable work and i re-positioned my 24-pin power connector and my CPU power. After making sure it was all in properly i started up my PC only to find that my CPU temp is hitting 90 with ease. Even in the Bios my temp reaches for the heavens. I went back in and checked all cabled and everything is in properly. I have no clue why my temp is this high.

Specs:
Asua ROG Maximus Hero IX z270
Intel Core i7-7700k 4.2
Kraken x52 Cooling
Geforce GTX 1080 FTW 3.0

Assuming the heatsink is properly installed and the thermal paste is adequate you could have a failed pump in your cooler. I would remove and re-apply thermal paste verify the cooler is properly installed and than verify that all necessary fan and power cables are connected for the cooler.

I will take apart the cooler and put it back together just to make sure its properly installed. If it still doesnt work then ill have a general idea where the problem is. But what bothers me is that just yesterday before my cables position changes my CPU temp was completely fine. It only started to heat up like this today after.

What you just said there is self-explanitory.

Was working fine before you moved cables around...
