A Gtx 1050ti will easily outperform an 710 (by over 700% according to userbenchmarks)
Im General all CPUs work with all GPUs but sometimes you won’t see an improvement because the cpus is bottlenecking the GPU

so its not a good idea ive just brought a gaming tower with gt710 intel core2 quad q6600 and trying to play gta so I should save up and get a better cpu then a gpu

Both cpu and gpu are important when gaming however each game is different, some use the cpu more, some the gpu and some stress both.

A 1050Ti can play any game at 1080p 60fps if you are careful with settings. A q6600 however is well under the minimum recommended for most if not all modern aaa games.

A cpu upgrade to a modern platform will also require a new motherboard and DDR4 RAM.

You shouldn't invest any further in that outdated platform. Save for a modern Ryzen or Intel core.

Well you could just use a Ryzen processor with a “g” at the end of its name but I would not recommend that since you can only play on 720p or MAYYYYBE 1080p with the lowest settings.
I would go with an GPU and CPU if you want to play gta.
