Cpu and heatsink stuck together

I wanted to change thermal paste on my amd fx 8320. So i removed the heatsink, but my cpu was stuck on it and the old paste is really dry. It hasnt been changed since i bought it. I tried using dental floss but as i said its dry so it didnt work. Any ideas on how to separate the cpu without damaging it? Thanks in advance

I'd probably try some very light tapping around outer edges, 1/8th of inch all the way around initially, with a razor blade. Then 1/4", then 1/2".

The try a gentle twist...

DO NOT simply pry it forcefully with a screw driver, and do NOT shave off any components near top surrounding the actual die...
