Hi there all, as title states i'm looking for a cpu and mobo to compliment my new g1 gaming gtx 1070 in my gaming rig.

Have been told my AMD fx 6350 will be bottlenecking my gpu, and that i'd get the most from an intel CPU. Can anyone confirm this, and is possible recommend a CPU and Mobo, that would be great :) Thanks all, my build is currently as follows

AMD fx 6350 3.9ghz
G1 Gaming GTX 1070
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3
2 x 4GB Corsair vengence ddr3
Corsair H45 water cooler
Corsair CX750 bronze PSU

Only put the 1070 and PSU in 2 days ago, was previous a G1 gaming gtx 960 and a cx500 psu. Very impressed with it so far.

if anyone needs anymore info just let me know.
Thanks

That counts as a high end setup in my book. Prepare to spend some cash. But the performance will make you happy

Intel is generally better yes. But bottlenecks usually only have an effect on 1-10fps. The FX 6350 is decent but if your sticking with AMD I would move up to a 8350 or something similar in the 9000s. As for Intel, get something like an i5-4670k/i5-4690k.

Why would you get that when you could get an i5-6500 and H170 for less money?

Thats fine too. the 4690k should still theoretically outperform the 6500 still however, as its perf is higher even though its 2 gens behind. Theres a reason its higher, but it likely doesnt matter. CPU bottle necks are hardly even an issue anymore.

Thank you for the responses, i have had a few people mention the i7-6700k, but again i have no experience with intel.
the i5-6500k looks like a good candidate if i end up splashing more on a motherboard.

Peoples thoughts on possibly going with a Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming and a Skylake i7-6700k?

Thats slowly what im aiming at lol. The G1 gaming 1070 wasnt exactly cheap :p lol

Thank you very much, i will keep in mind the i5-6500k for if i cant splash out as much.
