CPU and MOBO upgrade?

I currently have an FX-6300, geforce 1050 ti, and a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3.

I'm hoping to upgrade my CPU and MOBO for less than $300 and would prefer it around $200. Can I get a decent upgrade in this price range?

You could also get a B360 motherboard, they are a little cheaper. You also need to be aware youll need DDR4 RAM, which for 8GB will cost about 100 dollars.

If you want an upgrade on the cheap, then look for a used i7 4770 and compatible board, you can still use your DDR3 RAM. Hell even a 3rd gen i7 3770 would be a stronger gaming CPU then your FX.

I3 8100 + That MB and 8 GB of the cheapest RAM you can find would be right around $278. $200 is harder to meet with LGA1151 or RYZEN with the addition of DDR4 which is going to run you $68 on it's own.
