Hi all, my motherboard has just fried along with my power supplier so i’m planning to change both motherboard and cpu(had an older cpu whose socket doesn’t work with newer motherboards).
I currently have a gtx970 and power supplier corsair tx850m. What CPU and Motherboard would you suggest me to get? Budget depends, if you can give me a few choices.
Resolution i would never go beyond 1080 and i’m not interested in overclocking.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure how you'll be using your rig (Gaming, Editing, Music, etc...), or what type of board and CPU you had previously, but these parts are pretty good for a decent upgrade. You can save some cash if you use some of your current parts, such as HDD, Video Card, Power Supply, Case?:

My suggestion is to get an MSI motherboard with a Ryzen 3 just like a bundle this would pretty much be a budget upgrade which can possibly run high settings 1080p in most games. Make sure you get a motherboard which supports your PSU (power) cables. But for anything else you can pick anything you want. ;)

Thanks for your answer!
I will be using my computer mostly for gaming though i also do some photoshop.

Would you still suggest those choices for a gaming setup? Or is it better an i5 , i7 or ryzer?
Yes i will keep my gtx970 my power supplier 850w corsair and 2 drives (1 ssd).

Never used a cpu cooler is it reccomanded?

Anyway budget i could go up even a bit higher of it’s worth ot for my gtx970. Let’s say around 600ish

Thanks!

Well Ryzen 3 1300x or intel core i5 7400 is your max as anything above it is too powerful for your gpu...

Ok, so my reccomendation is a B350 motherboard with Corsais Vengenance LPX ram with Ryzen 3. And yes so this cpu is just about inside of that area that your current GPU can handle. as any higher generation of ryzen might bottleneck the GTX970 so if you upgrade it will be better... and be fine.
