CPU and RAM Compatibility

Hey guy's

So im rocking a i7-8086k and with that i have 4x8 DDR4 ram 3000mhz

But it says my CPU the memory type is DDR4 2666 mhz

could this be slowing down my cpu and should i underclock my ram in that case?

You need to enable the profile in BIOS for RAM to run at 3000MHz. Because when you put it in your system it runs at stock DDR4 Speed. Option you're searching for is called XMP

If it is 3000mhz ram, then it should have XMP profile.
