So when I am editing a video in sony vegas pro 13 my spu usage is at 100% and at 40° Celsius. I have an AMD FX-4350 and I am wondering if that is bad or is that normal? it does not go about 40° and averages around 38° at 100% usuage. Is that a problem or no?

Solution
no of course not. those are completely amazing temps for AMD chips. bulldozer max is 70.5C and thuban was 62C.
I keep my FX 4300 OC under 50C with my beefy cooler. that 125w chip being under 40C is purely amazing.

not a problem. it seems more like idle than load!

make sure you are using overdrive to read though. some programs are unreliable for AMD chips.
keep the thermal margin at 0 or more. its 70.5C-current temp.

40 degrees celcius under load is amazing! I have an overclocked Intel i5-4690K @4.5Ghz which reaches 55 degrees whilst playing intense games - with stock Intel cooler.

40 degrees is an idle temperature for most people so you have no need to worry at all...

55C for intel stock cooler is like a freezer even. at 4.2GHz stock voltage my chip used to run 65C load stock coler

Yeah I'm not sure how my stock cooler does so well because it actually keeps my CPU cooler than some £100 coolers...
