Question CPU at 100 celcius

CPU at 100 celcius and then drops back to normal after some time. This happens even in BIOS. I applied new thermal paste and it's still happening. Once it lasted the whole day, turning off and on didn't do anything and once it lasted for 4 hours. Turning off for the night didn't help as well. In task manager there's nothing. CPU fans are rotating really fast when this happens but it seems like there's heat only on the CPU. i7 8700

Does this reads on multiple temp sensor or multiple in the cpu?

Also - does the temperature reading tend to climb from normal to hight in no-time or does the temperature tend to rise over time ?

What cooler?

Either cooler is insufficient and/or your fan curve needs adjusting (if the bios allows it)

list all parts in system and see if the cooler is not jiggling on cpu when fans rev up also use hwinf and post a picture of the sensor page here wil all readings .

Yes, without knowing your full system spec, it's hard to trouble shoot. Start there.
