CPU at 130 Celsius but not shutting down?

Hey guys, Ive checked multiple temperature programs including SpeedFan, Ive checked my BIOS aswell, and everything says my CPU is at 130 celsius. All of my games get framerate drops even with my brand new EVGA GTX 970 superclocked acx 2.0. The framerate drops always occur when Im in a open area in a game, so I believe it is the cpu. Ive applied new thermal paste aswell, but to no avail. Oh, and 130 celsius is when Im idling. Please help!

Oh and I have an Intel Core i5 4670k and no, its not clocked.

either the temp software is reporting wrong (could be a bad sensor) or your cooler is not installed properly.

Ive reapplied the paste numerous times to try and fix it, didnt work. Bad sensors wouldnt exllain the FPS drops.

You are right about the sensors. Besides the paste, did you re-install the cooler?

Yes I have an H60 simple liquid cooling heatsink.

No. Its not very strong but the heatsink is cold when the pc is running. I tested that by removing the heatsink turning on the computer briefly and I felt it decrease in temp.
