Question CPU audible in headphones and microphone under heavy load.

Hi i'm new and this is my first post.
(please excuse any grammar spelling mistakes, i'm not a native English speaker).

But my issue is just like the title.
I recently upgraded my CPU from a i5 to a i7 7700. But now i can hear weird audio glitches every time my CPU peaks. I never had that issue with my i5 and i know it's the new CPU because the audio glitches accrue exactly every time my CPU peaks.

Some other things i found out are that even my microphone (blue yeti) picks it up while i'm recording and that i can't hear the noise any more when i plug my headphones into my HDMI monitor and use my monitor as default audio device.

I think i can solve the issue by buying an external audio DAK but i can't afford a decent one at the moment.

Does anyone know something that i could try?
Thanks in advance.

My pc specs:

CPU: i7 7700
Mobo: Asus z170-a
PSU: CoolerMaster g750m
RAM: Crucial ballistix 4 x 4GB
GPU: Gigabyte 1080ti
MIC: Blue Yeti USB
OS drive: WD Black NVMe SSD 1Tb

No idea.

A starting point might be to check for driver updates for the motherboard and other audio devices. What sort of audio glitches are these? A beep, or a temporary loop of whatever audio was playing when the CPU hits full load? (Still no idea but it might be info others find useful.)

Thank you for your response.

I've tried updating the drivers but unfortunately it doesn't work.

The sounds i hear are like ''zaps'' short and sharp pitches. They also vary in intensity.

Is it the sound where you can hear like a fax machine in the background as the cpu comes under load?

I used to get that, but I am not sure what causes it, maybe bad earthing? I cannot remember if that was on my old Z87 motherboard or not, as I don't have it on my z97 board.

Have you tried different headphones?

It's very likely to have something to do with earthing. The earthing of my pc was never really good. i can notice that a low pitched hum goes away when i tucht my case. is there any way to improve earthing?

also switching headphones doesn't work.

Sadly that doesn't mean anything in this day and age.
You need to say what country you are in.
If you are in a proper european country then the 2pin plug is actually 3 and it is earthed.
If you are in a country like I am that "uses" european plugs incorrectly that means you are not earthed.

This is why I asked you to say which country you are in.
